CVFD New Fire Station #1 Goes Online

1/15/21 - Members of the CVFD transferred Engine 20, Rescue 16, and Ladder 30 to their new fire station on South Street designated Station 1 today. This station will replace the old Station 1 at North Street and N Bayou. This location will allow us to house our ladder truck in a central location and avoid congestion in our downtown area.

The upgraded station will house office space for the Fire Inspector, Maintenance Engineers, Secretary, and Treasurer. Members will also have 24 hour access to the department's physical fitness center.

"It's a privilege to be selected as Chief of this department, and an even bigger honor to be Chief during our 100 year anniversary. These guys are the best in the state at what they do. They take the bar that was set high from each group before them dating back to 1920, and push it even higher every day. We can't thank the City of Cleveland's Mayor, Board of Aldermen, and the citizens enough for their overwhelming support to this department" - Bobby Foster, Fire Chief.

Sharp Axe Award

Congratulations to Eric Wasson on being the January 2021 Sharp Axe Award Winner!

Sharp Axe hours are accumulated by members seeking a variety of extra training on their own. These extra training hours are instrumental toward the Department's rating with the Mississippi Rating Board.
